Tribute to the Oldies

I know I have kept you all in suspense for way too long!! Our ward restarted the "Tribute to the Oldies" tradition this year. They haven't done it for about 7 years now and I guess before that it was a much-looked-forward-to yearly tradition. We had a great time.

This and That

Here is the neglected garden area of our backyard that never recovered from last years drought.

Here is what is going in the neglected area of the backyard this week...raised beds for a new garden...so excited!! Home-grown produce, here we come again. Shawn spent all day making these little contraptions - thanks schweets - can't wait to get them in and plant!

Hello 3rd Grade!!!!

This is going by so fast!!

She was so excited this morning - came into my bed right at 6:30...no having to drag this one out.
Only 3 more years of Elementary. I watched the kids being dropped off at the middle school across the street and my tummy did a flip. How is it she can almost be that old?!?! Can't wait till 3pm. :)

A Hard Workin Man

One of the nice things about Shawn's job is the extra time he has in the summer to hang out with the fam. It makes up for the insane days during April and October when we don't see him all that much. He is always good at doing fun stuff with the kids. Kaylee had a book from the library with instructions on how to make a volcano...sounds perfect for a daddy/daughter science experiment.

Not only does the man spend quality time with the kids...he fixes stuff around the house!

This is before... after... before... after... Refinishing hardwood floors is hard work...not that I would know personally...just from observation. :) It's especially hard when your wife picks the wrong color and you have to resand the whole thing a second time. So worth it though in the end...doesn't it look great?!! Thanks hon!

National Anthem at the Hooks Game

We had a great night last night at the Corpus Christi Hooks baseball game. The weather was beautiful, the food was cheap, the seats were great, but best of all, my girl sang The Star Spangled Banner! She did an awesome job!
