Trip to San Antonio

Last week we took a mini-vacation to San Antonio. Shawn had a judging gig and we decided to take advantage of it since they were paying two nights hotel and food/gas per diem. It wasn't really a family trip cause he was working, but I had fun with the kids, we got to go to the temple, and it was a nice get-a-way from the hum-drum routine. Kaylee really got into the hotel...this was the first time we've seen her this excited about sleeping in a hotel room.

These are the world's largest cowboy boots. They are outside of a mall right across the freeway from our hotel. You can see how tiny Kaylee looks in the bottom right-hand corner.

The mall is called North Star. Here is my girl posing in the "O" of "North".
We went to an indoor play place about a half-mile from the mall. It was a great way to kill a few hours and get the energy out. The funniest thing happened...Aaron found this little friend and I was making small talk with the mom...I asked her how old her little boy was. She said, "Oh, she's 3." Whoops. Honest mistake. Neutral colors, hair could go either way, no bows...how was I supposed to know? So a little while later, Aaron was getting a little too aggressive and pushed her...the words that came out of my mouth in front of her mom were, "Aaron, did you just hit him?" OK, embarassing. I mumbled a quick apology to the mom and made Aaron apologize for the push. It wasn't going well. Fast forward about 15 minutes...still making small talk...the mom is really nice and we're having a great conversation. I look over at the kids playing and say, "He has the cutest hair!" Then I said in a loud, frustrated voice, "SHE, I'm sorry!!!" Thankfully I got it right after that, but MAN!! Not one of my better playdate times.
What do you think? Honest mistake right?
Here is a short clip of Aaron...I wish I would have got it longer...you can't see it really well, but he liked to walk around the outskirts of the playland with his head to the side...silly kid.

Kaylee on the Harley...thought you'd appreciate this one Josh.
Cute kids...
I was trying to get Aaron to smile for the camera at Whataburger and this is what I got...

We'll have to work on it.

Too fun. I love Kaylee's pose in the O. What a dollface. And Aaron certainly has a mind of his own. Just like Jill. What are we going to do with our 2nd children? Glad you had a fun trip DA!

Yes, that is rather embarrassing, I am not going to sugar-coat that one for you. But, if it makes you feel any better, that is totally something I would do. Here is mine: a few years ago some good friends of ours- Kris and Scott- were having a little boy. She said that they were going to give him the middle name of "Scott" and I asked...oh is that a family name or just one you like? HELLO? It was really embarrassing! I think I win! At least this lady was a stranger. And, yes, her son- I mean daughter- looked like a boy!

So cute! yes, i'd say an honest mistake...what a cute little girl! :) Maybe the clothes need some rethinking--or accessories. You may have just done her a favor and not even know it. Love the trip idea--it sounds refreshing!
